We are pleased to announce the release of Warden Anti-spam and Virus Protection 5.00 under General Availability. This is a major release release that supports PHP 8.4, MariaDB 11.4, and CloudLinux 9. All users are encouraged to upgrade. This release has passed Plesk certification and is now available in the Plesk extension directory.

Postscreen Support

We've added support for Postscreen! Postscreen provides protection against SMTPD overload. One Postscreen process handles multiple inbound SMTP connections, and decides which clients may talk to a Postfix SMTP server process. By keeping spambots away, Postscreen leaves more SMTP server processes available for legitimate clients. The DNSBLs used by Postscreen are also executed effeciently in parallel, use caching, and can be weighted positivly or negatively similar to how SpamAssassin scores mail. See here for more information.

[+] Added support for Postscreen! Postscreen provides protection against SMTPD overload. [+] Added support for MariaDB 11.4.
[+] Added a new application:license command line interface for updating your license key.
[=] Updated the reject log to display the organization column by default instead of the client rDNS column as Postscreen does not log client rDNS information when it rejects a message to be as efficient as possible.
[=] Updated the mailserver:mailserver command line interface. Note: Some CLI options may have changed.
[=] Updated the scheduled Bayes training task to also include read mail from the .Junk folder when training spam.
[=] Removed the DNSBL `ix.dnsbl.manitu.net` from the list of DNSBLs as it has been discontinued. Administrators using it should remove it from their DNSBLs using the command: warden --task=mailserver:mailserver --dnsbl_sites_del='ix.dnsbl.manitu.net' --reload=yes
[=] Updated the extension to be fully compatible with PHP 8.4.
[=] Updated the minimum supported Plesk version to 18.0.62.
[=] Updated PHP vendor libraries to their latest versions.
[=] Installer/Uninstaller improvements.
[=] Deprecated support for the legacy operating systems: CentOS 7.x/CloudLinux 7.x/RedHat Enterprise Linux 7.x/Debian 10.x/Ubuntu 20.04. Remember that ClamAV will stop providing anti-virus signature downloads for these operating systems on Sept 14, 2025. See here for more information. We will try to continue to provide extension updates for these OS until that date, but we highly recommend that users plan to upgrade their OS before then. Centos 7 OS can perform an in place upgrade to AlmaLinux 8, Ubuntu/Debian OS can perform a dist-upgrade to a new OS version, all other OS can use the Plesk migrator to migrate sites over to a server running a newer OS.
[-] Fixed a bug where the reputation data pruning wasn't using the number of days set under Settings -> Database Maintenance -> Maintenance Settings.
[-] Fixed a bug where certain messages could throw an error when trying to view them in the quarantine.
[-] Fixed a bug where log lines could be reversed on Debian 12/Ubuntu 24 due to backported changes to journalctl.
[-] Command line interface bug fixes.
[-] Translation fixes.
